What sounds do you love?
Campfires and laughter (especially the laughter of the kiddos I work with).
Who is your hero?
My mom, who always sees the good in every person/situation and approaches life with positivity and grace.
What is your present state of mind?
Motivated and grateful. Excited to pursue every experience and opportunity that comes my way.
Other interesting facts we should know about you?
I love reading and always have a stack of books on my bedside table and as well as a list of items on hold at the library. I am 1/4 hispanic, studied in Spain for 3 months, love spicy foods, and am a dog mom to a Blue Heeler mix and German Shorthaired Pointer (two very energetic pups!)
What I do…
I am a native Portlander/Oregonian and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish in 2010. I then received my masters in Speech-Language Pathology at Portland State University and am now a pediatric speech language pathologist at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center/Institute on Development and Disability at Oregon Health & Science University. I primarily work with children ages 0 to 5 with communication challenges related to a variety of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and cleft lip and palate. I spend most of my days crawling around on the floor and often come home covered in sticky bubbles and markers- sure signs of a day well spent!
When I’m not at work, I enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, camping, traveling, and exploring beautiful places with my husband and our four-legged sidekicks, Porter and Colt.
